So after reading five consecutive books about murders I wanted to read something light, fluffy, kind of romantic, and maybe something that made me cry, I don’t know why but I love the books that made me cry, maybe because sometimes it’s really difficult for me to cry.. anyways one of the books that I read was This is Falling by Ginger Scott, and I really enjoyed it, I give it
At first I was attracted to this book because I’ve a thing about guys playing baseball and its really weird because I don’t watch the sport and I don’t really understand everything, I just know the basics (hit the ball and run the bases haha), so I picked up this story and I wasn’t disappointed.
Without giving too much spoilers, Rowe is about to enter college and has many issues, she suffered a really traumatic incident and was home schooled the last two years of high school, so she doesn’t have great social skills… then she meets Nate, a college baseball player, and everything unravels from there. Even though it some type of semi instant-love story it wan’t your typical story line, the characters were complex and funny. And even though I suspected and guessed what happened to Rowe really early (it was one of my many theories but I think that’s just me, I tend to be really dramatic and tragic, and sometimes I make up really complicated and gruesome scenarios) I don’t think that something to hold against the story, they tell you all the facts of the situation very far on the book and I think it keeps you on the edge.
The secondary characters (Nate’s older brother Ty and Rowe’s roommates Cass and Paige) are really entertaining and keep your interest, they add to the story. There’s going to be a second book about Nate and Cass and from the sneak peak I want to read it, there was a really surprising detail that I didn’t saw coming.
My favorite part was almost at the end of the book, where I fell in love with Nate (FYI I also have a thing for characters named Nate, and Lucas/Luke and Drew, maybe there are others I’ve to start an official list) there’s a letter from him to Rowe that’s so so sweet!!! That it made me swoon and cry and hope that everything will be all right!
