Seven years ago, Matthew Logan ran out on his wedding to June Leigh.
Life is good for fledgling dress-designer April Leigh. She couldn’t be happier that her sister has found a new love, and is excited about her very first commission, June’s wedding dress.
When April discovers June has invited runaway groom Matthew Logan to the wedding, she has to intervene. Matthew’s presence will ruin everything – her father hates him, and just the sight of him in the church might give her mother a heart attack.
Matthew Logan has no intention of going to June’s wedding, but when intriguing April arrives on his doorstep, he can’t resist getting to know her better. When a disaster forces them together neither can deny the passion that combusts into a red-hot affair.
Discovering the truth about the past shifts April’s feelings from lust to love, but bitter experience has taught Matthew to guard his heart.
When it looks as though Matthew will lose her forever, will he fight or flee?
The book is a cutie!! Truth be told, from the blurb, I was expecting the male version of
But no, it was something completely different!!!!!
April works as a barista and she is also working as a fashion designer, building her first collection. She always had a crush on Matthew Logan, her sister’s ex boyfriend, who ran away from their wedding years ago.
Matthew is a successful publicist, he moved into another city after the wedding incident, years ago, and he has never been back home.
April sister’s is getting married, and who do you think she wants in the wedding??? Yes!!! Matthew!!! So she asks April to make her wedding dress, and tells her about her plans to invite Matthew. April freaks out, she knows everything will be a disaster if Matthew assists to the wedding, so she goes to his house and asks him not to go. Of course when Matthew sees April, he’s smitten with her, she’s not a lanky teenager anymore, she’s a grown up woman and he is attracted to her.
Matthew convinces April to go out with him one time, or he’ll go to the wedding. April is surprised that nigh, twice:
1) Matthew is nice! And she is still attracted to him.
2) While she was out, her house burned to a crisp! Her dress collection is lost!!! Ohh and she’s suddenly unemployed.
Ohh yes, exactly what you are thinking … Matthew to the rescue!!! April moves in with him, temporary of course, and works for him as a housekeeper, while working on restoring her dress collection.
One thing led to another and their attraction grew from looks to kisses and eventually sex. A problem … right? Let’s not forget that apparently, Matthew has commitment issues … well … NO! There is a secret he has been keeping all those years, a secret about what really happened years ago, did he really ran away???? Will he go back home to face his past, just for April???
Hotness factor: A couple of kisses and one or two sex scenes, nothing too graphic.
Unpredictable factor: Crystal clear … at least for me 😛 But it was fun!!!
Verdict: A short fun light read, sweet and entertaining, nothing too dramatic. I liked it 😀
