His touch spirals through me, warm and sweet, wicked and hot. I shouldn’t trust him. I shouldn’t tell him my secrets. But how do I not when he is the reason I breathe? He is what I need.
At the young age of eighteen, tragedy and a dark secret force Lara to flee all she has known and loves to start a new life. Now years later, with a new identity as Amy, she’s finally dared to believe she is forgotten–even if she cannot forget. But just when she lets down her guard down, the ghost’s of her past are quick to punish her, forcing her back on the run.
On a plane, struggling to face the devastation of losing everything again and starting over, Amy meets Liam Stone, a darkly entrancing recluse billionaire, who is also a brilliant, and famous, prodigy architect. A man who knows what he wants and goes after it. And what he wants is Amy. Refusing to take “no” as an answer, he sweeps her into a passionate affair, pushing her to her erotic limits. He wants to possess her. He makes her want to be possessed. Liam demands everything from her, accepting nothing less. But what if she is too devastated by tragedy to know when he wants more than she should give? And what if there is more to Liam than meets the eyes?
Lara, now Amy, has been on the run for years, hiding from the people that killed her family. She has a handler, someone who helps her with new identities and protects her, telling her when the evil guys are close.
One day, after work, Amy finds a note from her handler telling her she has to run, and she does run, just like that … she goes to the airport, gets an envelope hidden in a locker with her new identity and instructions, and takes off from NYC to Colorado. And in that plane, she meets Liam a sexy, famous and rich architect. After some flirting, and a bit of stalking from Liam, they get together. But things are different for Amy this time, there are some things that doesn’t make sense with her new identity AND with her past… is she in danger again???
Amy and Liams relationship is purely sexual at the beginning, Amy just wanted to forget about her situation and Liam … well … he got obsessed with Amy and wouldn’t take no for an answer, he’s a bit posessive. Of course, later they fall in love with each other …
Liam is the typical rich-handsome-dominant-alpha-male-candy (the trend right now) who wants to protect the innocent-naive-beautiful-but-she-doesn’t-know-it-needing-rescue-girl (another trend).
“Sharks only have the power you give them, baby. Own them. Don’t ever let them own you. And they’ll have to fight me to get to you anyway.”
So, nothing new with the characters, but they are likable.
Who’s hunting Amy?
Where is her handler?
What was so important about her father’s job in Egypt?
Why no one has a record of the fire?
What was Liam really doing in Egypt?
…And other 1000 questions I can’t write here because they would be spoilers.
Change that to “You know nothing DEAR READER” because after an ending that left me like this …
I realized I had no clue about anything that happened in the book!!! And I guess that was the author’s idea … and it worked!! … Honestly, I’m hooked … I need the sequel right now!!!
If Lara/Amy has been on the run for years … how can she trust a stranger she met on a plane?
Why is she so gullible?
All her previous identities have followed a certain pattern with her handler, if this one is different … why didn’t she run at the beginning? I mean … her handler specifically told her “Don’t look for a job” and she arrives to Colorado and … ahhh! No spoilers!!!
Why isn’t she MORE suspicious of the people around her???
The book was a good reading, if you like smexy times + mystery with hot alphas … this is the book for you… (just ignore Amy’s “I need to hide!!” and then “Why don’t you want the press to know I’m with you???” Because the evil guys read the newspaper Amy!! That’s why Liam didn’t want you there, exposed to the tabloids!!!!!!!!!!!! Use those brains damnit!!!! ok … that was a bit of a spoiler sorry, no harm done anyway).
